Many businesses are adopting ERP (enterprise resource planning) application packages offered by major vendors like SAP. Baan JD Edwards and PeopleSoft. The ERP market is huge, crossing the billion markets. 

Why are companies rushing into FRP applications'? Most companies are plagued by numerous disparate applications that cannot present a single unified view of the corporate information. Many of the legacy systems are totally outdated. Reconciliation of data retrieved from various system's to produce meaningful and correct information is extremely difficult, and, at some large corporations, almost impossible.
